4 Tips To Organize Your Kitchen

Most people spend a significant amount of time in the kitchen. It's where you prepare your meals, wash your dishes, and it might even be where you eat with your family. An organized kitchen is a joy to use, but a messy kitchen can add to your stress levels. Fortunately, cleaning up the most cluttered kitchen doesn't have to be difficult. Here are four tips that will help you organize your kitchen:

1. Put spices in glass jars.

If you're like most cooks, you buy your spices from many different places. This can lead to a cluttered cupboard with spice containers of many different sizes. Spices often come in plastic jars that aren't very attractive. In some cases, they may come in plastic bags that are easy to lose and easy to spill. Keep your spice collection neatly organized using glass jars. Mason jars are the perfect containers for any type of herb or spice. Handmade labels will help you remember what's in each jar.

2. Keep the counters free.

It may be tempting to stack things on the counter, especially when you're in a hurry. However, cluttered counters can make your whole kitchen look messy. Free up your counter space by putting everything in a drawer or cabinet. You'll find that it's easier to prepare meals when you have the entire counter top at your disposal. It's also easier to wipe down empty counters, which makes for a cleaner and more sanitary kitchen.

3. Have a pantry installed.

If you feel like you're always running out of space in your kitchen, you may need a pantry. A pantry is the perfect place to store all your dry goods. Beans, grains, canned goods, tinned fruits, and cereals can all be stored in the pantry. Pantries are cool, dark, and dry, which makes them the perfect place to store bottles of wine. If your kitchen didn't come with a pantry, rest assured that you don't need to do a lot of renovation in order to have one installed. Freestanding pantries can be purchased from organization professionals. Allow experts to handle the pantry installation process for you, and you can have your new pantry ready to fill in as little as a single day.

4. Go through your refrigerator once a week.

A refrigerator that's stuffed full of expired food is impractical and difficult to use. If you often find leftovers piling up, make an effort to go through your refrigerator at least once a week. Take out anything that's expired and throw it away immediately. If you make this a regular habit, you'll never find unfortunate surprises in your fridge.
