About Me
Making Your Home More Interesting

After I started redecorating my home, I realized that I needed to do something to make the space more interesting and fun. I had always focused on adding details that would blend in with the natural elements of the home, but I realized that they were making my place look boring and dated. To resolve the problem, I started shopping around for unique home decor items and thinking about renovating entire rooms of my house. After making these changes, the results were fantastic. My place took on a whole new life, and it was awesome to see. This blog is for anyone out there who struggles with a boring, dated home.

Live In A Cold Climate? How To Still Use Your Patio Comfortably During The Winter

Whether you live in a climate that gets snow or one that just gets really cold during the winter, the last place you probably want to be is on your patio. Rather than only getting to use your outdoor space a few times out of the year, why not convert your patio into a place that you, your friends, and your family can use year-round? But how?

1. Have It Enclosed

The most effective way to use your patio during the winter is to have it enclosed. By getting some sort of enclosure that surrounds your patio, you can help to keep all of the water, snow, rain, and wind out. Depending on how much money you have to spend and the look you are going for, you can either have a permanent enclosure installed or you can have one that you can take down during the summer.

2. Get Ceiling Mounted Patio Heaters Installed

In addition to having some sort of enclosure to protect you and your guest from the elements, you will need to have some way to stay warm. One way to do that is to use ceiling mounted patio heaters. You can easily get these installed. They are usually long metal heaters that are installed near the top of the ceiling, and you can turn them on with a simple switch. The great thing about these heaters is that they are fairly affordable, they are easy to install, and they are really effective as well. Just make sure that you turn it off when it's not in use because they can heat up fairly quickly.

3. Have Plenty Of Comfortable Seating

Sitting on metal, wood, or plastic chairs during the summer may not be that uncomfortable, but during the winter they can be really cold. Try investing in some fabric or upholstered outdoor seating because it will not only be more comfortable, but it will also be warmer as well. And because all of the furniture will be protected from the elements, you won't have to worry about the fabric getting damaged from any water.

It's nice to have extra space to enjoy with friends and family during the winter. Rather than doing an addition on your home, consider just making your outdoor space a lot more useful instead.
